Herlis and Zak chose to have a Whistler helicopter elopement. They invited two of their closest friends to act as witnesses, hired a photographer (Hello! It’s me!), and brought in an officiant to make the whole thing legal. But just because they chose to have an intimate wedding experience for their Whistler elopement did not mean that they wanted their whole day to feel “small”. The two decided that no matter the guest count, this was their day and they would make it exactly how they wanted it to be.
Herlis and Zak chose to have a Whistler helicopter elopement. They invited two of their closest friends to act as witnesses in addition to a photographer (Hello! It’s me!), and an officiant to make the whole thing legal. But just because they chose to have an intimate wedding experience for their Whistler elopement did not mean that they wanted their whole day to feel “small”. After all this is a once in a lifetime kind of day. The two decided that no matter the guest count, this was their day and they would make it exactly how they wanted it to be.
What did they want it to be? A once in a lifetime experience!
Basically, H and Z wanted to do something with their wedding that would be different than any other time they had spent together. As soon as they sat down and thought about it they decided that having a mutual bonding experience that they could share as a deep core memory of their elopement day was something very important to them. As a result, that is where Blackcomb Helicopters came in. We coordinated with the Whistler based helicopter company to arrange an early morning landing on Rainbow Glacier where we took their couples photos before heading back down to the valley to enjoy the rest of the day.
Later, after retuning to the ground, I took the couple to a secret spot I know where they shared their private vows. We then all headed back to the Whistler Westin to get their official elopement ceremony underway. Subsequently the paperwork was signed, the kiss was had, and the cake was eaten to grate enjoyment and cheer of all involved.
