Jordan got in touch with me in the spring of 2019 to discuss creating the perfect proposal for his girlfriend, Sara. They were coming to Whistler for a weekend getaway, but he knew he wanted to propose while here. Being surrounded by the beautiful snow-covered mountains is the most memorable way he could think to pop the question. The easiest answer to proposing at the top of Rainbow Mountain is with a helicopter tour for their Blackcomb Helicopter engagement.
UPDATE: Jan 14th, 2020
Rocky Mountain Bride featured one of Sara + Jordan’s proposal images on their Instagram feed. Thanks for the love RMB!
I LOVE proposal photography.
Getting to be there for a pinnacle point of a relationship is an incredibly special thing. Commemorating that happy moment with a photo ensures that you can look back on those images in the future. You can remembering exactly how you felt in those few split seconds. However, you have to be sneaky about it! Jordan’s plans for a snowy Blackcomb Helicopter engagement would go perfectly as long as we could figure out how to get me in the helicopter without Sara suspecting anything fishy.
As always the team at Blackcomb Helicopters was there to help. The seasoned staff here in Whistler had the perfect plan. They told Jordan to let Sara know that it was a “public tour”. Meaning, having an extra person along for the ride (me!) would not be suspicious. After that little bit of planning the scene for their Blackcomb Helicopter engagement photos was set. We were ready to go.
Luckily, today Mother Nature was on our side. We had a beautiful sunshine with clear skies over the Whistler Valley. As a result when we arrived at the top of Rainbow Mountain we got out of the helicopter to take in the spectacular views. Once on the ground pilot directed us to a stunning vantage point overlooking Whistler/Blackcomb mountains. This is where Jordan dropped to his knee asking Sara to marry him. She of course said YES! We had pulled off our surprise Blackcomb Helicopter engagement without a hitch.
The couple were so excited to get married that they took less than a year to plan their sweet intimate wedding day on Vancouver Island. I can not wait to show you all the beautiful photos we took together in Victoria. Stay tuned to the blog for more to come from this stunning couple who had the perfect Blackcomb Helicopter engagement along with the sweetest intimate Victoria wedding.
